In meeting the interests of their target market, 70 million youth athletes, plus their support network of parents, coaches & sports organizations, Youth1.com will be launching a "Health and Fitness" segment tomorrow, January 31st, with content centered on safety, nutrition, psychology, fitness and medicine.  Youth1 will be keeping readers up-to-date on the latest trends, tips, and tactics on improving athletic performance and their overall sports experience.

Youth1's audience will have access to emergent health trends, published research studies, expert Q&As, feature articles and videos on each of these topics contributed by leaders in their respective fields, exclusively developed with the Youth1 audience in mind.

Initial covered topics will include concussion awareness, proper dietary requirements for athletes, off-season workout plans and the art of positive motivation.

Dr. Stephanie Moore, Cardiologist at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), and

Assistant Professor of Medicine Harvard Medical School, has enthusiastically agreed to be a leading contributor of content of sports medicine, safety and nutrition for Youth1. She is exuberant about Youth1's launch into this segment, stating, "Education begins with credible content. Youth1 is embarking on the mission to educate families and athletes for their best life performance."

She continues, "Having your 'A' game as an athlete means being prepared mentally and physically.  The body and mind will only perform to the level it is trained and that training involves a working knowledge of good health practice.   My hope is that Youth1 can provide current information to help athletes enjoy their 'A' game."

And that is just what Youth1 intends on accomplishing.

Youth1 President, Laura Petrillo adds, "The window of youth athletics is short and fleeting. We want to help athletes and their families derive as much enjoyment as possible from that experience, including helping athletes maximize their performance through Health and Nutrition to increase the odds that they will continue their participation well into high school and beyond."

Parents can play a leading role in making this happen.

One of Youth1's leading contributors, Dr. Andrea Corn, licensed Psychologist and co-author of Raising Your Game: Over 100 Accomplished Athletes Help You Guide Your Girls and Boys Through Sports, comments, "We want to work on creating a greater sense of connection, so the interactions between parent and young athlete are enhanced and fortified through their years of youth sport participation.

Content will be organized in the following categories and served up on these specific days:

Monday: Safety

Tuesday: Nutrition

Wednesday: Sports Medicine

Thursday: Exercise/Fitness

Friday: Psychology

Tune into Youth1.com tomorrow, as this new series will roll out with the first blog topic discussing parenting self-awareness, good sportsmanship, and how parents have the potential to positively or negatively influence their child's athletic performance.
