Vizalytics CEO Named an NYC Venture Fellow

Program honors high-potential New York entrepreneurs, helps accelerate and scale new ventures

NEW YORK, Dec. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Aileen Gemma Smith, CEO of New York data analytics company Vizalytics Technology, has been named a NYC Venture Fellow for 2016, underscoring Vizalytics' growing influence among New York City startups building new solutions and value in a fast-changing new economy.

NYC Venture Fellows, established by the New York City Economic Development Commission in partnership with the 92nd Street Y, is a year-long program designed to help high-potential New York entrepreneurs scale their ventures through mentorship, networking, and education. Vizalytics solutions bridge the technology gap between governments and citizens, using mobile apps, dashboards, and analytics lenses to mine open government and private data sets in real time to give agencies, business owners, and individuals a window on the information they need to live and do business more efficiently and responsively.

On the strength of services like, a public-private partnership between Vizalytics and the New York City Mayor's Office of Technology and Innovation to create an online platform for 400 city neighborhoods, Vizalytics recently won an Amazon Web Services Partners in Innovation Award for 2015. The award recognizes innovation by AWS technology partners for its potential to help governments connect and respond to the people they serve. The company is also a New York City Big Apps winner.

Smith thanked the Economic Development Commission and the 92nd Street Y and called the Venture Fellows program a prime opportunity to marshal the forces of a great city to create commercial impacts well beyond the city limits.

"Of course I'm honored and extremely proud to become an NYC Venture Fellow," Smith said. "But this is even more of an accelerant for our company. Vizalytics lives and breathes New York. This city has a young, entrepreneurial heart, and the connections, ideas, and shared experience that this program fosters will multiply to drive our businesses and our city's influence forward."
