MINNEAPOLIS, March 4, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- It is not often that the events that caused harm to a credit score could eventually help improve that same score. With the announcement that United Credit Consultants™ is the official partner and sponsor of the 'They Ruined My Credit!' Story Contest, individuals who enter the contest will have the opportunity to do just that.

The company who is the official sponsor, specializes in credit repair and restoration. UCC is offering a $500 cash prize and one full year of United Credit Consultants' services to the winner of the story contest for free. Apparently, the company has had a number of experiences in which their clients have had their creditimpacted by someone else, usually a spouse or partner. In soliciting these stories, the company is hoping to help someone who has been unfairly impacted by the actions of someone else.

"Ultimately, our goal in becoming the official sponsor the this contest is to help a very deserving individual who is in need of credit repair," said Joseph A. McGlynn, the president and CEO of United CreditConsultants™.

In total, the contest prize is worth $2,000. 12 months of credit repair and restoration from United CreditConsultants is estimated at $1,500, including the cash award of $500 brings the total value up to $2,000. The prize amount is significant, especially to those who may be suffering financially due to credit struggles.

"This is something that everyone can identify with, regardless of their socioeconomic background," said McGlynn. "People often have difficulties managing their credit, and there are often mitigating circumstances that influence these factors. It is simply our goal to help as many individuals as we can. It is our hope that this contest will help us achieve that goal."

The contest is open for a limited time only, radio hosts of the 101.3 KDWB morning show will ultimately select the winner. Though the radio station hosts will have specific criteria in what they are looking for in the winning story.
