Two 2014 model year trucks flex their muscles at Ingram Park CDJ

The 2014 RAM 1500 goes up against the 2014 Chevy Silverado for an all-out battle of the bulk

SAN ANTONIO, Oct. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Two of the auto industry's top trucks are battling it out at Ingram Park CDJ for the top spot in the 2014 model year lineup. The 2014 RAM 1500 and the 2014 Chevy Silverado both boast undeniable strength that is both hardworking and family-friendly. The new RAM and the latest Chevy are promising tough performances, but only one can take home the crown.

The Chevy Silverado is notorious for its impressive strength and capabilities on and off the road. Available with two tough powertrain options, the Silverado can be easily customized to fit the driver's workload. When powered by the 4.3-liter EcoTec3 V-6 engine the truck powers out up to 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque. The vehicle's available 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V-8 engine produces a 355-horsepower performance that earns up to 383 lb.-ft. of torque. Capable of hauling anywhere from 5,900 to 11,400 pounds when properly equipped, the Silverado shows that it is ready for action under any driving conditions.

The 2014 RAM 1500 is available with nine impressive trim levels, all of which are designed to bring versatility and customizability to its driver. Currently available with two impressive engine options, the Silverado is soon to add a third to its lineup, making it even easier for the driver to personalize his or her drive. When packed with the highly awarded 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine, the RAM tops out at 305 horsepower while delivering 410 lb.-ft. of torque. Utilizing the integrated trailer hitch allows the truck to tow up to 6,500 pounds. When upgraded to the V-8 engine, the truck can haul up to 10,450 pounds.

Soon to add a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 engine, the 2014 RAM 1500 will perform unlike any other vehicle in its class. Offering better efficiency through clean diesel technology, the RAM will produce the cleanest drive in its class without sacrificing power. While the Silverado certainly stands its ground, the RAM offers a no-compromise drive with more efficiency and strength.
