Toyota takes center stage at Chicago Auto Show

Toyota of Naperville proud of manufacturing partner

NAPERVILLE, Ill., Feb. 26, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Toyota of Naperville could not be prouder of its manufacturing partner Toyota Motor Corporation for the strong showing they had at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, held Feb. 9-18 at McCormick Place in the shadow of historic Soldier Field and on the frigid shore of Lake Michigan. Toyota Motor Corporation took a hold of the show early by introducing the newly redesigned 2014 Toyota Tundra near Aurora, IL and thus making a statement that Toyota was in the fight to prove their trucks can hold up to anything the domestic auto makers can produce. Toyota also took advantage of its spot at the show to give people a closer look at the 2013 Toyota RAV4 that is currently available for sale at Toyota of Naperville.

In addition to stealing the show with its debuts of new models, popular models and futuristic concept cars like the much admired Toyota Corolla Furia, Toyota Motor Corporation also took the opportunity to give back to the community. A number of popular Toyota models were chosen for a first-time program that allowed show attendees to actually drive cars around a 30,000-square foot course. The models that were available for the short test drive were the Avalon and Avalon Hybrid, Camry and Camry Hybrid, the Prius c and v, the RAV4 and finally the Venza. Each of the participants donated a dollar to take part in the test drive. Toyota raised a total of $16,662 that was split up between three worthy charities; the American Red Cross, AMVETS and the National Parks Foundation.

The star of the show for Toyota was the newly redesigned 2014 Toyota Tundra features a freshly redesigned exterior for the first time since 2007 with one of the main elements being the prominent chrome grille and squared off fender flares that have become synonymous with modern pickup trucks. Also catching the eyes of the Chicago Auto Show attendees was the 2013 Toyota Avalon, a full-size sedan that combines a stylish, sweeping exterior and pleasing eye lines with a high-performance power train that can produce 268-horsepower, all the while recording up to 31 miles per gallon on the highway. The newly released 2013 RAV4 near Romeoville was also on prominent display and drawing the looks of the many crossing through the expansive Toyota display area, thanks in no small part to the successful advertising campaign feature hit television actress Kaley Cuoco of "The Big Bang Theory."
