LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif., April 26, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- TLS Laboratories, 27324 Camino Capistrano #103, Laguna Niguel, CA, 92677

TLS Laboratories Announces Partnership with The Fortifiber Building Systems Group to Offer Moistop Rigid CornerShield

Building Systems Group to supply Fortifiber's Moistop Rigid CornerShield– a revolutionary accessory product that will help solve many of the problems that builders face with water infiltration into windows and doors.

Moistop Rigid CornerShield was conceived out of TLS Labs' extensive field experience in remediating window and door leaks. Gene Summy, the president of TLS Labs lives this problem every day, "Defect litigation often starts with a leaky window.  It can blossom into a gigantic expense and create a ton of ill will with homeowners – all starting from a simple window leak.  These new rigid corners, when integrated into a well-designed membrane pan system, provide a measure of protection to builders in our litigious times."

Moistop Rigid CornerShield is engineered to fit vinyl and aluminum windows and is manufactured from high grade plastics that are 100% compatible with self-adhesive flashing and membrane products.  The product is an excellent addition to Fortifiber's complete moisture control system of weather-resistive barriers, self-adhesive and mechanically-attached flashing, sealant and accessories.

Chris Yount, Fortifiber's President and Chief Operating Officer, sees the partnership as an extension of Fortifiber's key strengths, "Innovation has always been a core component of the success enjoyed by Fortifiber. We are excited about the new Moistop Rigid Corner Shield product, because it is truly innovative. With the prevalence of vinyl and aluminum windows on jobsites today, Moistop Rigid CornerShield is being launched at the right time to help address the unique issues with their installation."

Allen Zeigler, Fortifiber's Vice President of Sales and Marketing believes the product is an excellent fit with what the market needs.  "I loved these new Moistop Rigid CornerShield products from the moment I saw them in prototype form.  Builders and installers have been asking for a product like this and we're more than happy to oblige."

Given the adoption of sill pans for the protection of window openings, Fortifiber sees the product as very timely.  "Our product line is designed to fully support membrane pans being installed under windows.  With the new Moistop Rigid Corner Shield product, this will be easier than ever," added Chris Yount.
