The First Muslim Superhero in America to Battle Secret Societies and Save Mankind

A new kind of Good vs Evil Comic Book hits the global market

SAN JOSE, Calif. June 22, 2011 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Two enterprising American Muslims launch a new comic book series with a message to counter bias and propaganda against Islam, hoping to dispel fear and mistrust staining the current environment.

"As an artist, I have always been fascinated by the concept of super heroes and comic books. It was and is an entertainment medium that has captured the imagination of youth and adults alike, across the globe. The recent, unprecedented assault of movies based on comic book characters speaks for itself.  Unfortunately, In the past couple of years we've seen a growing sentiment against Muslims and Islam largely due to propaganda in the media and elsewhere. Something had to be done, we needed to hear an alternative voice. As such, we thought that the time was right to introduce a Muslim superhero who would carry this message with all the elements of mystery, action, and adventure. So the idea of  'Buraaq' was born and SplitMoonArts was founded," says Adil Imtiaz, Co-Founder and Artist.

"Buraaq," is portrayed as a practicing Muslim, a regular guy who is turned into a superhero by traumatic events in his youth.  According to SplitMoonArts, the mission is not to preach, but to provide wholesome family entertainment. The underlying message, they say, would help foster better relations between the West and the Islamic World.

"As an American, I cannot see the very principles on which our nation was built being deliberately attacked. All those on the side of Truth, Justice & Peace must come together regardless of race, color or creed. I strongly believe that Good is universal as is Evil," adds Kamil Imtiaz, Co-Founder and Writer.

The first digital issue of "Buraaq" was released online in January, 2011 on the company's website , downloadable for free. The comic also has a fanpage on Facebook, which now has a world wide fan following of 713 + and growing.

SplitMoonArts launched the second digital issue online which is also free on June 21st, 2011. The plot revolves around "Buraaq," who is drawn into a centuries old battle between seekers of  truth and forces of evil which are always shrouded in secrecy.

The third issue is already in the works, and SplitMoonArts has plans to release it digitally by September 2011.
