The Christmas Angels
Once upon a time, in a land far away...
Lived twenty angels who played all day.
Heaven was their home, the only one they knew,
They danced with the Saints, Blessed Mary, and Lord Jesus too.
When one day they heard the voice of their King,
The keeper of Light, Beauty, and Everything.
He called them to listen, I have something for you...
A great mission, a journey, an opportunity they all knew.
The King loved them so dear...
In a somber voice he asked, I need you to hear.
My angles, my delight...
You are the glory which fills my sight,
The world is in pain, filled with sorrow and wow
I need you to teach them and give them an opportunity to grow.
The Angels knew this mission was dear,
But with the Love of their Lord they had nothing to fear.
You will go into the world as girls and boys,
And light the hearts of many with your endless joys.
One day you'll leave before Christmas day...
And the World will miss the beauty from your stay.
Hearts will be broken and many tears shed,
Oh how can this happen, the heaviness and dread.
Mercy and love will re enter their hearts,
In a new way, thus will begin a bright and beautiful start.
Yes, it's a heavy mission, very heavy indeed...
I ask you my dear Angels, can you take the lead?
The Angels agreed to take on this task,
And for six or seven years they wore a mask.
Angels from heaven disguised as girls and boys,
playing in the parks and delighting in their toys.
Then came their day, to come back to the Lord...
They were overjoyed and delighted as their Angel's wings soared.
We did it, we did it, singing in delight...
Is the world better, more love, closer to the Light?
Yes, my Angels, you did well...
The World has learned the message you were sent to tell.
The meaning of Christmas is love, happiness, and joy
Love your neighbors a little more and worry less about that last toy
I love you my dear Angels, thank you for this gift...
All those left behind needed this lift.
The Angels danced and giggled and overwhelmed with delight,
What more could you want than to behold such a sight.
At first they were scared to leave Heaven and skies filed with blue,
But all along, they rejoiced, we're coming back home to you!
