Spector Rubin Law Firm Launched

Spector Rubin is a boutique law firm formed to provide exceptional legal representation in the areas of transportation, logistics and international trade law.

MIAMI, Sept. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- As of September 3, 2013, Andrew Spector, Marc Rubin and Robert Borak are continuing their law practice together as partners at Spector Rubin, PA.  The firm is based in the historic Coconut Grove section of Miami, Florida.  Previously, Spector was a managing partner of the Miami office and Chair of the Global Logistics and Transportation practice groups of a prestigious national firm.  Recently, Spector and his practice group were prominently mentioned in the National Law Journal's 2013 Hot List.  Spector said, "It is our absolute commitment to place our clients first and provide the highest quality legal service in an efficient and cost-effective manner.   We understand that we must be strategic partners with our clients to meet the challenges of today's business world.  A boutique law firm platform is clearly the way for us to personalize our services to meet the specialized needs and requirements of our clients, be it a global insurer or family-owned business."

Spector has focused upon the representation of logistics companies, freight forwarders, transportation entities, air carriers, customs brokers, international trade businesses, and insurers, amongst other business organizations while, establishing landmark precedents in over 25 published cases over the course of his career.  Rubin has worked with Spector for 20 years, and has been instrumental in developing these evolving fields of law as a first-rate litigator.   Borak has worked with Spector and Rubin since he started his law career. Borak's international business background has enabled him to anticipate the challenges our clients confront in ever-changing business arenas, including the negotiation of complex agreements including supply chain manufacturing, temperature-sensitive transport and storage, and information technology.

The home-grown team's knowledge and experience provide the skills necessary to anticipate issues, minimize risk and create proactive solutions.  Spector said, "Our knowledge plain and simple is based upon years of experience in the trenches.  We understand the blurring of the lines between domestic and international transportation, and the legal ramifications of an ever-increasing service offering of global logistics players in areas such as 3PL, 4PL, and project logistics.  Our specialized, in-depth knowledge cannot be found in a textbook or treatise, as we engage in maritime, aviation, domestic transport and import/export laws, litigation and risk management all at once.  We are an example of the 10,000 hour rule as popularized by Malcolm Gladwell, meaning that the way we became experts was based upon years of experience.

The firm provides a wide range of services including defense of errors and omissions, general liability, cargo legal liability, professional negligence lawsuits and claims.  Over the years, the team has counseled clients on contracts in areas ranging from project logistics to master service agreements.

Spector Rubin provides full service litigation trial practice as well as specialized commercial representation. Joining the firm as special counsel is Ronald Gainor, a former prosecutor who has personally tried over 80 jury trials to verdict.  He will lead the firm's government investigation and white collar defense group.

Also joining the firm is Corinne Aftimos and Troy Geisser. Aftimos is a former chief clerk to a federal bankruptcy Judge and associate at a major law firm who also worked in the general counsel's office for a major steamship line. Bankruptcy proceedings, as they relate to the international transportation of cargo are incredibly complex and implicate aspects of international, national and local laws.  Resolving these multifaceted issues requires a unique understanding of the roles assumed by logistics entities against a backdrop of bankruptcy principles.  Geisser, who will be based in the New York/New Jersey area, was formerly general counsel for a publicly traded company that focused upon the heavy equipment industry, handling technical lien, security interests, and bankruptcy issues.  He is well-versed with corporate compliance and risk management issues implicated in project logistics, and has substantial civil litigation experience.

Spector said, "We have a great team with specialized knowledge ready to provide exceptional personal attention and first-rate representation."
