Sons of Liberty International (SOLI) Completes Training and Advising of the Nineveh Plain Protection Units (NPU)

Company Expanding Support to Other Christian Forces in Iraq

NEW YORK, July 8, 2015 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Sons of Liberty International (SOLI), a company founded to provide free consulting and training to communities threatened by terrorism, announces that it has completed all advising and training for the Nineveh Plain Protection Units (NPU) and is ending its relationship with the NPU in order to expand support to other Christian forces in Iraq.

Since December, 2014 SOLI has advised NPU leadership and provided training to the NPU for free, playing an instrumental role in the NPU becoming a military force of hundreds of trained soldiers capable of defending the Nineveh Plain region of Iraq from ISIS.

The NPU has recently been able to leverage these successes during negotiations with the Iraqi government. After months of SOLI and the NPU working together, the Iraqi government will be integrating the NPU into their strategy against ISIS because the NPU has become a trained and capable force.

"We have had an excellent relationship with NPU leadership since we began working with them," said Matthew VanDyke, founder of SOLI. "We would like to thank the NPU leadership, the men we have trained, and our supporters who helped fund our mission in Iraq for being excellent partners in training Iraqi Christians to protect against ISIS. Our work with the NPU has been a success, and now that the Iraqi government has agreed to provide the NPU with support and resources we are able to focus our efforts on helping additional Christian forces become capable of similar integration into the coalition against ISIS.

"VanDyke also addressed attempted interference by outside groups in the training of the NPU. "For the past several months, American Mesopotamian Organization (AMO) and Restore Nineveh Now have repeatedly attempted to interfere with the training of the NPU, to the detriment of the brave soldiers of the NPU. These organizations have also issued false statements and press releases, and even shamelessly lied about the soldiers and leadership of the NPU and their excellent relationship with SOLI. But despite the efforts of these groups, SOLI and the NPU have succeeded.

"VanDyke released a NPU document clearly showing that AMO and Restore Nineveh Now have been lying about the NPU's relationship with SOLI since February, when these groups began falsely claiming that the NPU had severed ties with SOLI. Although SOLI's recent leadership training of the NPU in May, 2015 proved that such claims were false,

VanDyke said that SOLI was now releasing the document to dissuade similar organizations from attempting to interfere with the training of forces fighting terrorism in the future.

"Our mission in Iraq continues," added VanDyke. "We will soon announce details about the next, expanded phase of our work supporting the Christian forces in Iraq in the fight against ISIS.

"SOLI was founded to help communities protect themselves from terrorist and insurgent groups. SOLI does not charge those in need for its services and operates solely on generous support from individuals. For additional information or to give, visit
