Seattle enjoys $2.4 million economic boost from It Works! Global conference

Seattle benefits from 3,000 event attendees

SEATTLE, Oct. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Consumer lifestyle company It Works! Global™ hosted its quarterly "Boot Camp" training event in Seattle last month. The event had a direct economic impact of more than $2.4 million in the Seattle area.


The city hosted 3,000 attendees to the independent distributor event, as well as family members of the attendees, at the Washington State Convention Center located at 800 Convention Place in Seattle, Wash.

"We were happy to host It Works! and its independent distributors for their Boot Camp," said Washington State Convention Center spokesperson Dennis Galloway. "You could tell that something big was happening with all the black and green that could be seen throughout Seattle."

It Works! executives traveled from company headquarters in Florida. The company had more than 900 independent distributors from the state of Washington attend the sold-out training event.

"Thank you, Seattle, for being so welcoming," said CEO Mark B. Pentecost. "We had a successful Boot Camp event, brought a positive impact to the city and we were able to give hope to those in need."

At the event, It Works! sold "Give Hope" bracelets for $5 donations. The proceeds of these sales went to Children's Cup, a non-profit organization founded in 1992 by Dave and Jean Ohlerking that reaches out to hurting and forgotten children and offers them hope through education, nutrition, and medical care.

Through the event and additional donations, including a match from Pentecost and his wife, Cindy, It Works! donated $150,000 to feed more than 60,000 children through Children's Cup, through which a $5 donation can feed two children for approximately four weeks.
