San Antonio Mazda dealer stacks up award-winning Mazda6 against top competitor

Ingram Park Mazda assesses 2015 Mazda6, 2015 Kia Optima capabilities

SAN ANTONIO, July 25, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The midsize sedan segment is one of the most competitive in the automotive industry, and two of its leaders are going headlight to headlight at San Antonio Mazda dealership Ingram Park Mazda. The 2015 Mazda6 and 2015 Kia Optima have both recently undergone intensive updates, which have only enhanced their performances. Ingram Park Mazda hopes to establish that a midsize sedan can be both exciting and functional, as made evident by the 2015 Mazda6 and Kia Optima.

When drivers select the base-level 2015 Kia Optima, they receive a 2.4-liter engine generating a 193-horsepower performance. With the ability to create an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-estimated 34 mpg highway fuel rating, the Optima is a balance of power and fuel consciousness.

At the 2015 Mazda6's base trim, the vehicle utilizes the 184-horsepower 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G gasoline engine, which earns an EPA-estimated 37 mpg highway fuel economy. When the vehicle is backed by its automatic transmission with i-ELOOP regenerative braking technology, it is capable of upping its fuel rating to an EPA-estimated 40 mpg highway. The Optima may be able to produce best-in-class horsepower at its higher trim levels, but the Mazda6 offers more efficiency at any trim.

Inside the cabin the Kia Optima offers the most space, but not by much. The 2015 Mazda6 offers 99.7 cubic feet of passenger volume to the Optima's 102.2 cubic feet, and 14.8 cubic feet of cargo space to the Optima's 15.4 cubic feet. The Mazda6's interior is also packed with technology features that keep drivers and passengers connect, informed and entertained while traveling any distance.

Drivers must weigh each vehicle's strengths on their own terms, which means scheduling a test drive at Ingram Park Mazda to experience the vehicle in person. For more information on the 2015 Mazda6, drivers can contact the dealership online or on-site today.
