San Antonio drivers weigh in on two strong crossover SUVs

Ingram Park Nissan compares performances of 2014 Nissan Pathfinder, 2014 Chevy Traverse

SAN ANTONIO, Texas, March 3, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The crossover segment grows ever-competitive with vehicles such as the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder and 2014 Chevy Traverse present in the industry. One San Antonio dealership, Ingram Park Nissan, is stacking up its all-new Pathfinder against the Chevy Traverse to determine which vehicle's performance outshines the other.

The 2014 Chevy Traverse steps onto the scene with the Direct Injected 3.6-liter V-6 engine, capable of earning the vehicle a 288-horsepower performance and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-estimated 24 mpg highway fuel economy. Offering up to 116.3 cubic feet of interior cargo volume, the Traverse is a spacious model that accommodates the driver and his or her changing travel needs. When equipped with the proper powertrain, the Traverse can also haul up to 5,200 additional pounds. The Chevy crossover sets the stage for one of the closest rivalries in the segment.

While the Traverse places its focus on creating a powerful performance, the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder strives for balance. The Chevy crossover offers more horsepower and maximum towing capacity, but the Pathfinder doesn't lag too far behind with its own performance. Equipped with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine, the Nissan SUV produces 260 horsepower. When outfitted with the appropriate equipment, the vehicle can haul up to 5,000 pounds, a number not too dissimilar from that of the Traverse. Earning a higher fuel economy at an EPA-estimated 26 mpg highway, the crossover creates a well-rounded ride for each driver.

Also available with the class-exclusive All-Mode driving and EZ Flex Seating systems, as well as the exclusive Around View Monitor and Easy-Fill Tire Alert system, the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder provides drivers with more than muscle under the hood. Ultimately left up to the driver's preferences, these two capable crossovers both have a great deal to offer.
