DEARBORN, Mich., June 6, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Attorney Joumana Kayrouz, President and owner of the Law Offices of Joumana Kayrouz, P.L.L.C., was awarded the "Lebanese-American Heritage" Award by HE Fady Abboud, Lebanese Minister of Tourism, during the Miss Lebanon Emigrants, USA – 2012 pageant, May 24, 2012.
The award read, "... for your tireless efforts in strengthening ties between your native Lebanon and the home of your choice, the United States, we honor you for understanding the shared values and the historic relationship between our two great nations… we especially are grateful for your generosity to and leadership in highlighting the unending work St. Jude Children Research Hospital
Ms. Kayrouz, said: "I am humbled to receive this award from the Lebanese Ministry of Tourism. Giving back to one's community and understanding the importance of doing so is, to me, fundamental in being a good citizen regardless of where you may live. I will continue to give back, especially to children, who - through no fault of their own - are too often presented with negative circumstances beyond their control. Childhood disease is among the most tragic of these circumstances.
"Thankfully, St. Jude offers hope to many in Beirut, in this country, and around the world.
Their 50 years of service, since founded by Lebanese-American icon, Danny Thomas in 1962, is an example of how to best use one's fame and influence; and, I look forward to being their Presenting Sponsor at the St. Jude's 50th Anniversary gala in Detroit in October of 2012"
To underscore her commitment to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, as President of the 2012 Miss Lebanon Emigrants, USA committee, Ms. Kayrouz has directed that all net proceeds from the May 24 Pageant are to be donated to St. Jude's, Beirut. Ms. Kayrouz has also recruited an anonymous donor who will be matching these net revenues with a personal contribution of their own.
