Pool Fence Company, LOOP-LOC, Discusses Fun Outdoor Winter Activities for Kids

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., Dec. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Pool fence company that services New Jersey, LOOP-LOC, discusses fun outdoor winter activities for kids.

Just because the pool is closed for the season does not mean your kids cannot enjoy the outdoors. Here are some fun outdoor winter activities your kids can try until you are ready to think about opening the pool again!

Make snowmen or snow angels. Falling—and accumulating—snow lends itself to two of the most popular winter activities: building snowmen and making snow angels. Making snow angels is easy. Simply bundle the kids up, have them lie down on their backs, and move their arms and legs back and forth to form angel wings. For snowmen, have them roll three balls of snow and stack them on top of each other. Decorate with hats, scarves, buttons for eyes, carrots for noses, and cherries or similar items for mouths.

Sled, snowboard, or ski. The fluffy white stuff is a necessity for these activities! Grab a sled or saucer, find some hills, and hop on! Skiing and snowboarding are best at a local ski resort, where the kids can rent equipment if they do not already have it. No matter which activity your kids choose to partake in, make sure they wear helmets!

Ice skating. First and foremost, make sure that the surface the kids choose to skate on is completely frozen. Review any posted signs or warnings with your kids before allowing them access to the ice. Never leave them unattended, and give them helmets to wear. Knee and elbow pads are also recommended.

Cross-countryskiing. The kids will need a park or a flat area to engage in this activity. It is a little more of a workout than traditional skiing. However, it is a bit calmer for those that do not seek the thrill of high adventure.
