OLC Announces Best-in-Track Sessions and Keynote Speakers for OLC Innovate 2018, Taking Place April 18-20, in Nashville

Jointly presented by OLC and MERLOT, #OLCInnovate will explore emerging technologies and adapted teaching behaviors aimed at informing policy, inspiring leadership and evolving practice in digital learning.

NEWBURYPORT, Mass., Feb. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The Online Learning Consortium (OLC) and MERLOT will gather the digital learning community in Nashville, April 18-20, for OLC Innovate 2018 (#OLCInnovate), the annual event focused on innovation in digital teaching and learning. The conference program, framed by the theme "Education Reimagined," highlights inspiring innovators and thought leaders from higher education, military, health care and workforce education.

Keynotes, New Session Formats and Integrated Events

The three-day conference offers learning experiences that encourage conversations and opportunities to interact with practitioners, academics and administrators representing a variety of career stages and goals. Session formats include education sessions, emerging ideas sessions, workshops, innovation labs, "Conversations Not Presentations" sessions, and career forum roundtables. The third and final installment of the Innovation Installation will also be featured at the event.

Keynote speakers for OLC Innovate 2018 are Jordan Shapiro, globally celebrated public intellectual and Senior Fellow for the Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop; and Ruha Benjamin, sociology and African American Studies scholar and author.

New for 2018 are Keynote Campfire Stories, in which five innovation leaders will share stories of failure that helped to drive innovation and change. Another new format is Conversations, Not Presentations, designed to foster slide-free discussion and dialogue.

The richness of the Innovate program extends to the HBCU Summit, Community College Summit, OLC Leadership Network Event and four pre-conference workshops focused on the imperatives of accessibility and quality, including real-world applications of the OLC Quality Scorecard.
