"I was delighted to not only co-chair the event, but to ensure that Christopher Wheeldon's spectacular new production of Cinderella would make its debut in my hometown of San Francisco," said Kellems Dominik.

The San Francisco Ballet Cinderella Opening Night Ball was held on May 3, and co-chaired by Stephanie Barage Ejabat, with Shelby Gans as the Dinner Chair. The Ball dinner concept, "Before the Ball," adhered to the Brothers Grimm tale of Cinderella, while the main tent paid homage to the more well-known Perrault tale, with clocks as part of the room décor.

Co-produced by SF Ballet and the Dutch National Ballet, Cinderella had its world premiere in December 2012 by the Dutch National Ballet at The Amsterdam Music Theatre. The production was met with rave reviews and deemed "a triumph of storytelling and stage design firmly in touch with the 21st Century" by The Financial Times, and "a vibrant piece of theatre and an enchanting love story rolled into a hugely entertaining whole" by The Times (London).

According to the San Francisco Ballet's website, "This wildly imaginative co-production with Dutch National Ballet features something for everyone: dramatic music by Prokofiev, spectacular sets and costumes by Julian Crouch (renowned for his designs for Metropolitan Opera and the Broadway musical The Addams Family), and ingenious puppetry by Obie Award winner Basil Twist."

An invested patron in the San Francisco Ballet through both the Suzy Kellems Dominik New Works Fund and the Suzy Kellems Dominik School and Education Fund, Kellems Dominik is also a benefactor for many women's and children's causes including the Voss Foundation's Women Helping Women, CDC's Bed and Net, and The Fertility Project.
