New Online Marketplace for Handmade Arts & Crafts

Website where artisans and crafts people can display their homemade products

MEHOOPANY, Pa., Dec. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Crafts Arts & More of Pennsylvania is proud to announce the brand's website www.craftsartsmoreofpa.com and the addition of several artisans and crafts people to the arts & crafts family.

The website offers an opportunity for everyone, no matter their computer knowledge or amount of time spent on a hobby, to have an online marketplace to sell their arts and crafts. The creator has structured the site so it's not a DIY but a very affordable and easy "we'll do it for you" site. The site administrators help artisans list their products, write their biographies, market the site and also provide merchant accounts, insurance, SEO services and other marketing initiatives for Crafts Arts & More of PA family members. The website is a true resource for hobbyists and serious artists and crafts people who need help or another venue selling their homemade products online – an industry first.

Crafts Arts & More of Pennsylvania is happy to welcome several new people to the family of artisans and hobbyists: Nan's Quilts of Jermyn PA, Anita's Biscottis of Sinking Springs PA, RoundTop Crafts of Mehoopany PA, Carri's Country Quilts of Luzerne PA, Dee'S Creations of Clarks Summit PA and Carnright Design of Mehoopany PA. Other hobbyists include Rosemary Dillione of Tunkhannock PA.

Cheryl Carnright, concept creator, told us "I've had this idea rolling around in my head for a while now. There are lots of DIY "sell your craft" sites on the Internet but most people don't know what to do to even how begin to put their products on the Internet, let alone how to effectively market it. Or if they do know, they don't have the time.

I've been designing and writing sites for about 10 years and have had the opportunity to work closely with marketing and SEO specialists so I thought I'd put what I know together with knowing who to hire for an added edge and give everyone an opportunity to get their homemade arts and crafts online.

It doesn't matter if they only have one of something homemade or several pieces of one handcrafted item. In fact, having only one of an item is better because then it's truly a unique product and not something mass produced. You know a lot of love went into making that one handcrafted item.

If there is only one of an item, once it sells, it's gone and not available for sale again unless the crafts person wishes to create another exactly the same or in a different color or a little different style. It's totally in the hands of the artisan what and how many they want to list on the site.

What's great about this "we'll do it for you" concept is there's no pressure. The artisans can create as much or as little as they want and let us list their products as they have the time or energy. They don't have to worry about anything until something sells and then they have all the control because they ship it out. They can include anything they want into the package as long as it's reputable and doesn't harm the reputation of the site or the other Crafts Arts & More of PA family.

I think of the site as a "family" of arts and crafts people getting together in one place and helping each other sell their products.

In addition, we have a blog that lets our arts & crafts family talk about their work…what they're working on, what they would like to do in the future, their interests, their goals, anything they want. The site is all about the family and helping them show their arts & crafts to the world."
