New GMC crossover SUVs outshine rivals

2017 Acadia, Terrain have more to offer than Nissan counterparts

EDMONTON, Alberta, Oct. 18, 2016 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Now that much of the 2017 GMC class of crossover SUVs have arrived to the Don Wheaton showroom, it's time for future customers to learn about how each one handles the competition. Both the 2017 GMC Acadia and 2017 GMC Terrain have quite a bit to offer potential buyers. But when each is held up against a top rival, the differences in capability, accessories and performance become very clear. It is still relatively early in the production calendar for the new versions of the Acadia and Terrain, so on hand models may be limited; but more will be arriving to the Edmonton-based dealership regularly.

For several consecutive years, the GMC Acadia has been one of the industry's most popular crossover SUV. Examining the 2017 GMC Acadia vs. 2017 Nissan Rogue simply makes that idea clearer for another model year. In just about any facet, the completely redesigned 2017 Acadia is able to out perform the Nissan Rogue. Even on the base trims, the 2017 GMC Acadia comes handsomely outfitted with a long list of standard features. Also, the introductory four-cylinder engines show a distinct performance advantage in favor of the new Acadia.

As a part of the redesign process, GMC engineers shaved a few inches off of the wheel base of the new Acadia. This has done little to affect the available cargo space inside of the new GMC crossover SUV, which still offers about nine cubic-feet more than what is available from the Nissan Rogue.

Customers looking for something a little on the more nimble end of the crossover SUV spectrum have made the GMC Terrain a popular choice. The biggest difference between the 2017 GMC Terrain and new Nissan Xterra comes down to comfort. GMC's team of designers have kept up the inherent quality of the crossover SUV's passenger cabin. The interior of the new Terrain is able to adapt to more different passengers because its second row of seats can travel front and back up to eight inches.
