Mondo Media Signs Multiple YouTube Channels To Form Multi-Channel Animation Network

The Mondo Mojo Network Will Help Animators Grow Their YouTube Channels, Maximize Revenue On and Off the Platform and Ultimately Uncover The Next Happy Tree Friends

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Mondo Media, YouTube home to the wildly popular animated series Happy Tree Friends and Dick Figures, is leveraging its 1.6 million subscribers and 1.5 billion views to expand into a multi-channel YouTube animation network for teens and young adults called Mondo Mojo.  The growing Mondo network launches with a slate of channels from world-class animation studios, breakout young animators and an animation industry legend.

"There are a number of YouTube networks out there with generalized offerings for channel partners, but we think animators have a unique set of needs that only Mondo can properly address," says John Evershed, CEO of Mondo Media.  "We obviously have a large, passionate audience that we can steer to our partner channels, but our understanding of animation production, distribution and promotion is unmatched.  We uniquely tailor our assistance for each channel partner to fit their needs, offering a mix of promotion, monetization optimization, production guidance, localization support, off-YouTube distribution, social media assistance and, in the right situation, content funding."

Highlights from Mondo Mojo's growing partner roster:

  • Rug Burn – This brand-new channel is a joint venture between two of LA's most successful independent animation production companies, Titmouse and Six Point Harness. Titmouse, led by Chris Prynoski, is one of the most prolific animation studios with a long list of TV and film credits including Adult Swim series Metalocalypse, Black Dynamite, Superjail!, and The Venture Bros. Six Point Harness, led by Brendan Burch, is best known online for Dick Figures, their 175 million view YouTube mega-hit distributed on Mondo Media, and Electric City, Tom Hanks' animated project distributed on Yahoo!
  • Spike & Mike's Sick & Twisted – The birthplace of Beavis and Butt-head, Spike and Mike's Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation has been delivering the world's best animated shorts to packed theater audiences for over 20 years.  Films from animation legends like Nick Park, Tim Burton, John Lasseter and Andrew Stanton have premiered at the live events, and their nationwide tour hosted the theatrical premiere of The Spirit of Christmas, the original uncensored South Park short by Matt Stone and Trey Parker.
  • Joe Cartoon – Responsible for one of the first Internet memes from the 90's, Joe Cartoon's Frog in a Blender has inspired a generation of animators with his distinct style of animation.  Joe is actively producing new shorts with his uniquely American voice and original music.
  • Guy J. Collins – One the hottest up and coming animators on YouTube, Guy has rapidly generated millions of views with his dialog-free, heart-tugging style of animation.  Hailing from Western Australia, Guy is working on a new zombie series that follows an abandoned girl struggling to stay alive in a post-apocalyptic world.

"We're thrilled to be part of Mondo's expanding network," says Brendan Burch, co-founder of Rug Burn. "We continue to have a great experience distributing Dick Figures on Mondo's network and together we've been able to build a massive fan base. With Mondo's YouTube expertise and our new slate of content, our shows are going to get all the support they need to be successful."

Prynoski added, "What he said."
