"On Military Spouse Appreciation Day, it is appropriate to recognize the immeasurable contributions and sacrifices military spouses make. Military spouses truly are the heroes of the home front. USAA is honored to participate in the Military Spouse Appreciation Day virtual career fair. We've proudly committed to our goal of 30% of all new hires being veterans or military spouses." -John McGarrity, Executive Director, Talent Acquisition USAA
According to the Institute for Veterans and Military Families, thirty percent of female military spouses below the age of 24 are unemployed. Female military spouses earn about thirty eight percent less than their civilian counterparts, and ninety percent of military spouses are underemployed.

With more than 260,000 veterans and military spouses who participated in 2013, there is an obvious need for our service, but we look forward to the day when our service is not needed for our Nation's Finest" Said O'Brien
