Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class is more powerful and uses less fuel for 2014 models

Loeber Motors near Chicago uncovers new Mercedes-Benz advances

CHICAGO, Nov. 27, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class is one of those rare automobiles that seems to do everything right. It's been said that this Mercedes-Benz vehicle is one of the most attractive sedans produced by any luxury automaker, and its engine lineup clearly reflects it is one of the most powerful. Many would agree that the CLS-Class could remain unchanged for years to come and it would still be ahead of the curve, but Mercedes-Benz evidently had other expectations for their four-door coupe.

In reality no one would ever expect an auto maker with such a reputation of pushing the envelope and raising the bar for excellence to ever sit idle on one of their models, so naturally the 2014 CLS-Class would be better than its predecessors.  Most noticeable for the 2014 CLS-Class is the standard stop-start technology placed on all of the models, the CLS550, CLS63 AMG and CLS63 AMG S-Model. Used to conserve fuel, the Mercedes-Benz stop-start technology actually shuts the CLS-Class engine down when the car comes to a complete stop in situations like at a red light or during a traffic jam. Once the foot is removed from the brake and applied to the accelerator, the engine automatically fires back up delivering responsive acceleration with virtually no lag time.

Mercedes-Benz has also made their 4MATIC technology standard on the CLS63 AMG. The same system used in their SUV lineup, 4MATIC is designed to give their automobiles corner-hugging grip and confidence during foul driving conditions. Intelligently communicating with every one of the CLS's wheels, the 4MATIC system allows for communication where if one wheel begins to lose traction the others adjust torque outputs accordingly for greater driving confidence and feel.
