LONG BEACH, Calif., April 7, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Matt Coffman has once again set high standards for himself and others at Formula Drift.
On Thursday April 3, Matt Coffman arrived at Formula Drift Tech Inspection sporting a freshly built S13 and new style to match. The car received a lot of attention at Formula Drift Long Beach, most notably for the the Roush Yates Ford 6.7L V8 sticking out of the hood, making 890 horsepower at 671 pounds-feet torque. After the impressive power plant, the Rocket Bunny 6666 Gen 2 defines the exterior of the car, with livery inspired by war planes such as the P-40 and designed by YAER Productions. The custom suspension boasts parts from BC Racing, Battle Version and Driftworks. AP Racing brakes help keep Matt in control of the powerful machine, which sits on Rays 57DRs with Maxxis Tires.
"It was a big team effort to build this car, my dream car," Coffman says. "And we wouldn't be here in Long Beach without my amazing crew, or the sponsors who made it all possible. I'm really grateful to have this wonderful program come together for me."
Matt Coffman and his Maxxis Tire teammate Ryan Tuerck shared a space in the paddock at Formula Drift Long Beach where they both had the opportunity to interact with fans and spectators. Matt and his team have been delighted to show off the new build and meet fans at the event.
"[Formula Drift] Long Beach has been an incredible experience. I know I made a couple mistakes, but we learned a lot, and I absolutely can't wait for Atlanta," Coffman said after Friday April 4's qualifying round.
Matt Coffman and his team will be at Formula Drift Round 2 at Road Atlanta in Braselton, GA from May 9-10.
