LOOP-LOC Talks about How to Safely Chlorinate Your Inground Pool to Protect Your Pool Liner

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., Sept. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- LOOP-LOC, an inground pool liner company that services New Jersey, talks about how to safely chlorinate your inground pool to protect your pool liner.

Chlorine is an essential part of keeping pool water safe for swimming—as well as sparkling clean and free of algae. No one wants to swim in an unchlorinated pool that could either make them sick, leave their eyes red, or result in skin irritation. However, if it is not used correctly, chlorine can fade and damage the pool liner. Here are some steps to take to use chlorine the proper way.

Always dissolve the chlorine in a separate bucket or container. Mix it well, then walk around the pool, slowly adding the chlorine mixture to the water. If any granules accidentally spill into the pool, take the pool brush and hit them to dissolve them. You can use a mineral sanitizer to reduce the amount of daily chlorine needed to maintain the pool water. Chlorine levels should be in the range of 1.0 to 2.0 ppm.

Do not use chlorine floaters, or put tablets in the skimmer. They may come in contact with the liner. Tablets can be used with a chlorine feeder. Have it installed back by the filter to ensure the tablets will not touch the liner.

Do not shock the pool too often. If there are no issues with the pool water, shocking can typically take place every four to six weeks. Test the pool's chlorine levels daily and make any necessary adjustments. Also, make sure to keep all pool chemicals locked and away from children and pets.
