REVERE, Mass., July 19, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- With attendance expected to exceed well over 500,000, the team behind NoBoMagazine.com will bring live coverage as well as the Official Guide to the Revere Beach National Sand Sculpting Festival. In celebration of its 10th anniversary, NoBo's publishers have teamed up with organizers to once again publish the special print edition as well bring the guide to life online.
"When it comes to North of Boston online, we're the source for everything unique about the region," offers Keith Spencer, Editor in Chief of NoBoMagazine, "so it only seemed natural to bring our special print edition to the online realm."
"We produced and handed out 10,000 copies of the print guide last year, quickly snatched up by Saturday by visitors," said Matt Laidlaw, Chief Business and Marketing Officer for NoBoMagazine. "This year, we're both in print and online in order to provide more content, more access, and more deals for our readers and clients."
NoBo will be updating readers on the special site as well as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. asking visitors to submit their guess of what each of the sculptures are as they come to life during the competition.
"What's exciting is that our readers & new visitors can interact online while enjoying the event at the beach," adds Spencer. "We're bringing live updates, exclusive content, tons of photos, and helping to cultivate the social media conversation for this great event."
"It's a fun opportunity all the while giving people great information."
While digital guides and phone apps are certainly not new, NoBo's approach is absolutely strategic. The company is looking to expand from the Sand Sculpting Festival to offer more onsite online and print guides for festivals and events, giving local venues and businesses the opportunity to gain exposure and engage their audience.
"We're all about being local, truly local," notes Spencer, "however, as much as we want people to read all of our material, our focus is to get people out to do things. We are the resource for all the great things happening hyper-locally North of Boston."
While the print guide quickly sold out of advertising space, the online guide continues to add local deals each and every day with spaces open for advertising.
"Our advertisers want immediacy, and the ability to target a local audience, and we can offer that." adds Laidlaw, "If you have a product, service, or destination you want to sell, you can spend a few dollars that go a far way on our site, up & running within hours of your request."
With an abundance of local content ranging from restaurant reviews to newsworthy stories to their popular Distractions features, NoBoMagazine.com works diligently to find the fun, interesting and off-the-beaten path things to do North of Boston. With their growing popularity, the publishers behind NoBo is also currently developing platforms to launch similar content for South and West of Boston magazines this fall.
