Our Honorees are: Michelle Vicary (Hallmark) who will be receiving the Executive Achievement Award, Terri Polo ("Meet the Parents") who will be receiving the Innovative Award, Sara Rue ("The Big Bang Theory") who will be receiving the Comedic Actress Award, Judy Reyes ("Scrubs") who will be receiving the Lupe Ontiveros Image Award. Michelle Vicary (LA Femme Executive Achievement Award) is currently the Executive Vice President of Programming for Crown Media Family Networks, home of Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel, which is owned and operated by Crown Media Holdings, Inc. In her current role, Vicary is charged with the strategic oversight of all production and original programming for Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel, including movies, series, and specials. In addition, Vicary supervises acquisitions, program scheduling, and on-air scheduling promotional strategy for both networks. Vicary has also been instrumental in the programming strategy for Hallmark Movie Channel, which is one of the fastest growing and most in-demand cable networks on television today.
Judy Reyes (LA Femme Lupe OntiverosImage Award), currently starring in ABC Studios/Lifetime's Marc Cherry produced drama "Devious Maids" is best known for her leading role as the sassy, no-nonsense nurse Carla Espinosa on the hit comedy series "Scrubs" ("Scrubs" received 17 Emmyò nominations over eight seasons). Reyes was recently on the silver screen alongside actor Esai Morales in the film "Gun Hill Road." Her film credits include "Dirty", opposite Cuba Gooding, Jr.; "Went to Coney Island on a Mission From God"; "Be Back at Five", with Jon Cryer and "King of the Jungle", alongside John Leguizamo and Rosie Perez.
Sara Rue (LA Femme Comedic Actress Award) is best known for her starring role in ABC's "Less Than Perfect" and Chuck Lorre's "Two and a Half Men" and "The Big Bang Theory." Rue For the past two years has had a recurring role on "Rules of Engagement" as Brenda, Patrick Warburton's lesbian best friend and surrogate. Rue has also starred as Sigourney Weaver's cellmate in "A Map of the World" and appeared as a scene-stealing social misfit in "Can't Hardly Wait" and the tough-talking nurse in "Pearl Harbor."
Teri Polo (LA Femme Innovative Award) is the co-lead on the new ABC Family show "The Fosters", produced by ABC Family and Jennifer Lopez. Polo is best known for her role as Robert De Niro's daughter, Pam Byrnes, in the "Meet the Parents" for which she won a People's Choice Award, and reprised the character in the sequel "Meet the Fockers." Polo's other film credits include "Beyond Borders" co-starring Angelina Jolie, the suspense thriller "The Unsaid" opposite Andy Garcia and "Domestic Disturbance" opposite John Travolta and Vince Vaughn. Polo's other recent credits include the feature film "The Hole," directed by Joe Dante, and the NBC miniseries "The Storm".
The Awards Show and Gala event will begin at 7pm (red carpet to start at 6pm) on October 20, 2013; Renberg Theatre 1125 N. McCadden Place, Los Angeles, CA 90038. This star studded show will feature multi level performances by a talented group of women, guided through the evening by Master of Ceremony Sandra Valls, with a no holds barred comedy style that will make you laugh until your side hurts (Top 10 faces to watch in 2010 by Diva Magazine and Showtime hit comedy special "The Latin Divas of Comedy"-Alma Award nominated). Carlos Gonzales and Juanita Wooten, classical guitarists, will be performing as well as Alana Hyland (sang the theme song for the "Barbie Mariposa" animated movie and laid down some vocals for "The Spice Girls" opening video for their 2007 World Tour), age 17, is a multi platform singer/dancer who is an up and coming triple threat entertainer. Finally, we will be celebrating with The Show Off Dolls a versatile, burlesque fusion dance company based out of Hollywood, California fuse dance styles such as hip hop, jazz, ballet, contemporary, tap, gogo and acrobatics.
