TOPEKA, Kan., Aug. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- As the new Kia hamster commercial has shown, the 2014 Kia Soul has been totally transformed. New styling has combined both the boxier look of last year's model and the new Trackster concept, a two-door coupe version of the Soul which was unveiled at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show. In addition to the new exterior design are crisp HID headlights and efficient LED taillights which can be seen for miles. In the Soul Exclaim, the highest trim available, 18-inch alloy wheels and folding mirrors are also found on the outside. The transformed Kia Soul is expected to be available at Briggs Kia within a month or two.
Consumers are anticipating the redesigned interior as well. The 2014 offers privacy glass and a wrap-around style windshield. Hill-start assist, power locks and windows, Sirius Satellite Radio, USB and auxiliary inputs as well as Bluetooth connectivity are all features that come standard. With the available Primo Package, a panoramic sunroof, leather seats and push-button start add to the luxury and convenience of the Soul. In the Exclaim the leather seats come standard, and heated, and the sound quality gets an upgrade with the addition of an Infinity Audio system. That system works in tune with LED mood lights around the interior of the Soul which change color and intensity based on the track playing.
The Kia Soul is based on its superior style, so consumers aren't likely to be surprised that the engines are nothing out of the ordinary. The base model has a 1.6-liter, 130-horsepower engine which can be paired with either an automatic or six-speed manual transmission. The Plus and Exclaim trims get an upgraded 2.0-liter 164-horsepower engine which puts out 151 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy ratings have not been released yet, but as everything about the Soul has been totally transformed, consumers can expect an increase in the 27 mpg combined rating of the 2013 model.
