According to a May 22nd article from AdWeek titled, "McDonald's Unveils the Simplest Ads It's Ever Made," McDonald's has put up an incredibly minimalistic billboard in France featuring emoji-like icons in place of actual pictures of its food. Interestingly enough there is no branding at all in these ads. McDonald's is not mentioned in words anywhere on the ad, only a small logo appears.
The ad will appear in over 2,700 places throughout France and is supposed to show a new, unique and modern side to McDonald's advertising. The clean, simple drawings are eye catching.
