ITSLN Doubles Assault Team Of Microsoft Certified Masters

SAN JOSE, Calif., April 2, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- ITSLN, Inc., a leading Microsoft information technology consulting firm serving global 5000 and other large enterprise and government customers throughout the western US and Mexico, today announced that technical consultant Ramon Silva has earned a Microsoft Certified Master (MCM) certification, an exclusive designation held by only 68 consultants in the world today — two of whom are now working at ITSLN.

When it comes to implementing a rich communications solution like Microsoft Lync Server 2010, corporations need all the help they can get. A full implementation combines voice, instant messaging, presence, audio, video, and web conferencing to deliver more collaborative, engaging interactions while cutting costs. Obviously, companies hoping to tap the power of this solution need to work with a Microsoft-authorized third-party. But Microsoft Certified Masters (MCMs) are the real key to success.

Individuals with a Microsoft Certified Master (MCM) on Lync Server 2010 certification have the extraordinary depth and breadth of skills necessary to effectively help an organization implement this vast array of powerful communications options.

Ramon Silva: Unified Communications Architect

Ramon Silva, a senior solution architect of unified communications for ITSLN, joins Jesus Mora as one of two ITSLN Lync MCMs on the Lync Server 2010 platform.

Silva graduated with a B.S. Degree in Computer Science from Universidad de Costa Rica and also graduated Cum Laude with a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica. He brings a combined 15 years experience to ITSLN, working in a combination of technical and business roles for companies such as Microsoft, Lucent Technologies, and Integration Technologies, among others.

In companies outside the U.S., including Walmart, Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad, Ministerio de Hacienda de Costa Rica, and Instituto Costarricense de Acueductos y Alcantarillados, Silva has personally deployed more than 20k users in Lync.

At ITSLN, Ramon is a Practice Manager responsible for leading teams of ITSLN's service professionals toward profitable and sustained high-quality delivery of services to customers. In this role, he also oversees several scorecard and key performance indicators directly or through collaboration with other roles in services, sales, and marketing, ensuring that customer expectations are clear, captured and delivered on.

"Training to be a Microsoft Certified Master for Lync was rigorous, because the certification process requires you to master a broad range of skills and knowledge," states Silva. "But now that I am an MCM, I know I can help ITSLN clients use Microsoft Lync to improve workforce productivity, enhance collaboration, and increase return on information technology investments."

States Linda Roude, General Manager of ITSLN's US Western division: "Ramon's certification is invaluable to ITSLN and its customers. His knowledge and experience on Lync are now recognized — by Microsoft and the world — as being expert. And we're incredibly proud of his dedication to learning Microsoft technologies. It enables us to continue to provide innovative and integrated end-to-end solutions that meet customers' unique needs."

The MCM Program

Microsoft created the MCM program and certification to recognize its most deeply experienced employees and third-party partners. Microsoft Certified Masters (recently renamed Microsoft Certified Solutions Masters or MCSMs) are, quite simply, the best of the best when it comes to understanding and using particular products, such as Lync. With only 68 Certified Masters total in the United States, it is rare for partners to have more than one Certified Master on staff.

ITSLN partners with clients to implement Lync technologies that can replace or integrate with clients' current technologies to enhance communications and lower costs. Staffed by former Microsoft Voice Business Development/Product managers, the Lync Unified Communications & Voice consulting team at ITSLN provides advanced unified communications ROI justification, planning, design, deployment, migration, upgrade, support, Lync 2013 training and health check consulting services.

With offices in Bellevue, Washington, San Jose, California, and Mexico City, Mexico, ITSLN is a leading Microsoft Systems Integrator (SI) with Gold certifications in Communications, Messaging, Management & Virtualization, Desktop, Identity & Security and Portals & Collaboration. ITSLN helps clients use cloud and Internet technologies to improve productivity and competitiveness, strengthen relationships with customers, suppliers and partners, and reduce information technology costs.

The company offers more than 12 years' experience, and more than 108 certified consultants, serving Global 5000, enterprise, and government organizations throughout the Western United States, Mexico and other countries. In October 2011, ITSLN was named "Microsoft Solution Partner of 2011" at the Microsoft Mexico Partner Summit.
