ROCKVILLE, Md., Oct. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire-iReach/ – Intelligent Automation, Incorporated (IAI), will exhibit at the Air Traffic Control Association Annual Conference and Exposition in National Harbor, Maryland, October 17-19 2016. IAI will be exhibiting its Air Traffic Control technologies in booth #623 in the Exhibit Hall.
IAI's Air Traffic Management (ATM) Group works a range of air traffic technologies, from developing new aircraft designs through studying the integration of UAS technology into the National Airspace System. IAI's ATM technologies include a physics-based aircraft trajectory predictor, called the Kinematic Trajectory Generator (KTG), which is embedded in air traffic simulation models and provides fast-time prediction of aircraft position, airspeed, ground speed, bank angles, turn rates, and other quantities given the aircraft performance, winds, and weather.
IAI's ATM technologies also includes the ability to project future Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) flights at high altitude, a capability useful for those investigating the potential impact of UAS technologies on the National Airspace System. The product, called UAS-Max, is the first such large-scale projection of individual flights gathered from data provided by over twenty organizations planning to use UAS technology. The missions range from air quality monitoring to weather data collection. The UAS-Max product was the subject of an article in the June 2016 issue of the Journal of Air Traffic Control entitled "The Drones are Coming: Is the National Airspace System Prepared?"
IAI's abilities also include integrated modeling and simulation capabilities, allowing seamless end-to-end analysis of potential changes to the NAS from airspace design through performance and environmental modeling. This capability has been used to analyze near-term NextGen improvements in Atlanta as well as surface congestion issues in the New York area. Metrosim, a metroplex-wide flight planning and optimization tool, is an IAI product that provides insights into arrival, departure, and surface operations at all airports within a Metroplex, and is currently being used for New York metroplex investigations.
