WASHINGTON, Aug. 31, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The Center for Advanced Defense Studies (C4ADS) is pleased to announce that His Highness Prince Fahad bin Abdullah Al Saud has joined C4ADS as a non-resident Fellow for 2017-18.

HH Prince Fahad has served in various roles across the Saudi government, including as President of General Authority of Civil Aviation, as the Deputy Defense Minister, and President of the Executive Office of the Arab Ministerial Council of the Meteorological & Environmental Protection Agency, where he was the principal architect of the Saudi National Environmental Awareness Program and a participant in formulation of the Maalmo Declaration and the first Global Ministerial Environmental Forum. Considered the father of the modern Royal Saudi Air Force, he is a graduate of the US Air Force Command and General Staff College and holds a Master's Degree in Military Sciences. HH Prince Fahad is the recipient of a Doctorate in Aviation Business Administration from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.

The appointment of a Fellow is C4ADS' recognition of significant contributions to understanding conflict and security through academic, business, or public service excellence. Fellows work closely with C4ADS analysts to provide insights derived from a lifetime of experience. Fellows help drive the intellectual growth of C4ADS by producing original research or contributing to existing projects. Our current focus areas include transnational crime and illicit networks; conflict, security, and state-building; and the intersection of global finance, trade, and transport with illicit networks.

"His Highness Prince Fahad's deep knowledge of the aviation sector and regional politics is a tremendous addition to the C4ADS team," said David Johnson, Executive Director. "His Highness' experience will help us expand our understanding of the air transport sector, which is a growing enabler for a wide variety of issues, ranging from proliferation and human trafficking to wildlife crime. We are delighted to have him as a Fellow and know the team will benefit from his expertise and counsel."
