Homejoy, the leading platform for home services, announced today that they have acquired Get Maid, with Co-founders Steven Gutentag and Demetri Karagas joining the Homejoy team in New York City. Get Maid, a premium, on-demand maid service, originally launched in New York in December 2012, and quickly expanded to serve clients across Queens and Brooklyn. Get Maid clients will now have the option to book via the Homejoy platform.
"From our first conversation with Homejoy, we realized that our vision for Get Maid aligned very well with Homejoy's vision of on-demand home services. As the market leader, we know Homejoy is the best place for us to take everything we've learned over the last couple years to the next level," commented Steven Gutentag and Demetri Karagas.
With Steven and Demetri's impressive work ethic, deep understanding of the home services industry, and tenacity for delivering a great customer experience, the two will help grow Homejoy's presence throughout the United States.
"I am very excited to have Steven and Demetri join the Homejoy team. From cleaning through a hurricane (literally) to running customer service, marketing and operations themselves - their stories remind me a lot of when Aaron and I started Homejoy. They'll be a great addition to the team," commented CEO and co-founder Adora Cheung.
