Courtney Mohr Named CEO of GrowthPlay

CHICAGO, Dec. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Chicago based GrowthPlay, a leading sales effectiveness firm and Driehaus Private Equity Portfolio company, has named Courtney Mohr, 45, CEO, effective immediately.  Ms. Mohr, GrowthPlay's chief of staff and a member of the firm's founding management team, succeeds Daniel J. Weinfurter, who remains with GrowthPlay as founder and channel partner.

"In just four years, GrowthPlay has transformed from an idea to a leading growth company," said Eli Boufis, board chairman.  "Courtney's role in that transformation and appointment as CEO reflects the firm's transition to the next phase of its growth and development plan."

Ms. Mohr brings more than 20 years of executive leadership and human resource consulting experience to her new position.  As GrowthPlay's chief of staff, she oversaw the development and launch of new products and services, which now account for 25 percent of the firm's overall revenues.  As a practice leader, she led a 40 percent increase in revenues for one of the firm's key practice areas.

"Courtney has played a major role in integrating the acquisitions that comprise GrowthPlay, directing client engagements and leading significant organic growth initiatives," said Mr. Boufis.

As part of its growth strategy, GrowthPlay will spin off its Force Management division into a separate company to focus on its core consulting business.  GrowthPlay expects to complete the Force Management spinoff by the end of 2017.

"I have worked with Courtney on several successful entrepreneurial ventures since 2004," said Mr. Weinfurter.  "I highly regard her leadership and I'm very confident she and our leadership team will take GrowthPlay to the next level."

Under Mr. Weinfurter's leadership, GrowthPlay has grown to achieve the No. 22 position on the Inc. 500 list, and the No. 1 ranking in business services.  Since its founding in 2013, the firm completed four acquisitions and then combined the capabilities to offer a unique value proposition that helps companies drive revenue growth by measurably increasing sales force effectiveness.  The Force Management acquisition was operated as a separate division, outside GrowthPlay's core consulting capability.

Prior to joining GrowthPlay, Ms. Mohr founded and led Summit Consulting, an organizational development consulting firm.  Her entrepreneurial experience includes five years working with Mr. Weinfurter to build Capital H Group, an international talent and leadership solutions company.  Ms. Mohr built and led the U.S. Organization Effectiveness consulting practice for BPI group, a global management and human resources consulting firm.  She also had a 12-year career at Deloitte Consulting, leading practice and people development initiatives while serving midsize and Fortune 500 companies.

Ms. Mohr holds a bachelor's degree from Bradley University and an MBA from the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management.
