Maryland congressman tours BlueStar HonorCare facilities in Rockville, Md; visit included guided tour, aging-in-place technology presentation and Q&A session

ROCKVILLE, Md., May 19, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- BlueStar HonorCare, a Service-Disabled Veteran-owned small business, welcomed Maryland Congressman John K. Delaney (MD-6) on Thursday, May 11, 2017, for a tour of its facilities, business overview model, and hiring impact on Montgomery County.

Following the tour, Chief Technology Officer Preston Weir led Rep. Delaney through a presentation of BlueStar's aging-in-place technology, demonstrating how said products help seniors and veterans live better: safe, healthy and connected.

"It was our honor and pleasure to host Congressman Delaney for an afternoon," said BlueStar founder and CEO, Rear Admiral Robert O. Wray, Jr. (ret.). "We are sincerely grateful that Rep. Delaney joined us at our Rockville headquarters to learn how BlueStar serves our nation's veterans, seniors and their family members, and we profoundly appreciate all the support the congressman has provided America's veterans and seniors alike in Congress," Wray said.

Admiral Wray, joined by Admiral Gordon Russell, BlueStar's Vice President of Operations, subsequently presented Rep. Delaney a brief PowerPoint presentation that featured an overview of BlueStar's business model, the company's veterans' advisory board, phases of business growth and recent company developments. Rep. Delaney's visit concluded with a short question and answer session.

"I'd like to thank Admiral Robert Wray, Admiral Gordon Russell, Ryan Miner and the entire BlueStar team in Rockville for the opportunity to meet with them, learn more about their work and the challenges facing veterans and their families," said Congressman Delaney. "As a former entrepreneur, I really enjoyed learning about the growth of this veteran-owned local business and their plans for the future. Creating an environment where businesses like this can succeed should be a priority for all of us in Congress."
