DUBLIN and BINZEN, Germany, July 10, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Glatt and Innopharma Labs enter into a partnership to enable customers to profit from EyeconTM in-line particle characterisation. Due to its non-product contact, non-destructive imaging analysis technique of relevant process parameters of moving particles EyeconTM will support customers engaged in formulation development, scale-up, tech transfer and process optimization, both in the batch process and the continuous process.
Optimized process control
EyeconTM is a self-contained portable image capture and analysis sensor which can be mounted to inspection ports of Glatt equipment for in-line, real-time, non-product contact monitoring of particle morphology and size to aid in reducing batch losses and cycle time, improving yields and gain greater control of process end points during granulation, coating, spheronising and continuous fluid bed drying. EyeconTM imaging analysis collects relevant data for recipe development. Being captured in real-time data help to gain maximal transparency in the production process for complete documentation.
The real-time images and data captured by EyeconTM during the process can aid in reducing cycle time or in gaining greater control of batch process end points. EyeconTM may also be used for static bench-top sample analysis. It can also support PAT and continuous manufacturing of pharmaceutical products as its integration with Glatt MODCOS already proves.
"This partnership provides Glatt Customers with access to Innopharma Labs advanced EyeconTM technology enabling real-time in-line particle characterisation data and images that directly aid process control" said Ian Jones, CEO of Innopharma Labs.
Reinhold Sprich, Glatt Sales Director, emphasizes the importance of this strategic partnership: "We are delighted to offer customers this new and innovative technology. It demonstrates Glatt`s continued commitment to providing our customers with best of breed solutions".
The Glatt Group celebrating this year its 60th anniversary has specialized in the handling and processing of powdery solid for the pharmaeutical, finechemical and food processing industries. The core technology is the fluidized-bed method for granulation and drying, pellitization and coating of solids. The Glatt Group also offers laboratory, pilot and production equipment for batch or continous processes, product and process development and product handling for contract manufacturing.
