NEW ORLEANS, Oct. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Big news has come out of the Big Easy today as Clemson University and global parking giant Parkeon announced that Clemson students and employees on campus will soon be able to use their TigerOne Card to pay for parking. The announcement came at the CBORD User Group Conference being held in New Orleans this week. The TigerOne Card is Clemson's official University ID.
Today, students and employees at Clemson use their TigerOne Card in a variety of ways such as meal plan access, entry into Fike Recreation Center and other campus buildings, Library access, entry into athletic Olympic sporting events, and the athletic student ticket privilege. In addition, the TigerOne Card contains a declining balance account called TigerStripe which is used at more than 300 locations on and off campus. Clemson and Parkeon collaborated on an integration to include parking payment as part of the list of TigerStripe Merchants.
"We are excited to gain Parkeon as a TigerStripe Merchant partner and to be the first CBORD school to have the Parkeon integration," said Lisa Powers, Director of TigerOne Card Services at Clemson University. "Our goal is to provide as many TigerStripe options to our patrons. We are fortunate to have strong relationships with campus departments such as Parking and Transportation Services to collaborate with and to be able to offer these options."
Clemson is the first Parkeon client to utilize its campus card solution. The University currently has 21 Parkeon pay stations on campus. In September over 25,000 cash and credit card payments were performed. It is anticipated that parking payments with the TigerOne Card will start being accepted in November.
