Brooks Utility Products Group Announces Leadership Transition

NOVI, Mich., Sept. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- 13 September 2017 - Brooks Utility Products announced today that Kevin Koder has joined the company as president, replacing Jeff Hanft, effective November 3, 2017. Jeff Hanft, who has led the company since 2003, plans to retire and move to South Carolina to spend time with his wife in their new lake home. Hanft will continue to work on a part-time basis as executive director of Brooks Utility Products.

Kevin Koder has already begun his transition and upon Hanft's retirement will provide day-to-day leadership and management for the company. He will also be responsible for the planning and execution of the company's strategic direction, financial objectives, value creation and technology development teaming with the utility products management team who will report to him.

Koder has 25 years in the utility industry with previous management responsibilities at Cleaver-Brooks, ABB Utility Distribution Automation and Siemens Electric Distribution. He is well versed in electric distribution and products, receiving his technical training while in the Navy and as an owner of a controls company in California. Koder's knowledge of the utility and renewable marketplace and sales channel will be invaluable to the company's future growth.

The leadership transition plan provides for a seamless change by leveraging the strength of the executive team.
