PHOENIX, Jan. 31, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The Piano Man, Billy Joel, is still wowing fans around the world with live concerts. Joel has added a stop at the US Airways Center on Sunday, June 1st to his 2014 headlining tour.
The US Airways Center is located in downtown Phoenix and it opened about 20 years ago. The Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury call this arena home during their respective seasons. This venue's naming rights are owned by US Airways until 2022. In 2003, the arena underwent extensive renovations and one of the best things that happened was the addition of an air-conditioned glassed in pavilion which is used to keep people comfortable while waiting in line before events. This venue can accommodate approximately 18,400 fans for a basketball game and definitely more for a concert with floor seating.
Earlier this week, Joel played his first residency show at Madison Square Garden, something he will be doing once a month for the foreseeable future. In between dates at the World's Most Famous Arena, Joel will play at many other popular venues including the US Airways Arena in Phoenix.
