According to an article published by The Telegraph on May 19th titled "Olive Oil on Salad May Save Your Life," the study conducted by Professor Eaton has found that extra virgin olive oil "can reduce the incidence of cardiovascular problems like stroke, heart failure and heart attacks." Olive oil's health unsaturated fats, coupled with nitrate rich vegetables such as spinach, celery and carrots, can lower blood pressure.  Drizzling just two-thirds of a teaspoon on your salad will help you live healthier and longer.

The other study, conducted by American government scientists, found that olive oil could reduce the effects of air pollution on the heart such as lowering your risk of heart disease, stroke and developing asthma, which are all health problems impacted by air pollution.

Susan Testa, Director of Sales and Marketing for high-quality Tuscan olive oil producer Bellucci Premium, says, "Olive oil is a resourceful addition to many diets, especially for individuals who already suffer from heart problems or high blood pressure.  Using olive oil as a dressing is a great way to improve your health and the taste of food." She adds, "Make your salads colorful with carrots, tomatoes and cucumbers, then drizzle on olive oil."
