AITP Chicago & SIM Chicago announce 2016 CIO's Most Effective IT Team Awards

2016 Winners include Connect Hearing, Mesirow Financial, and The City of Chicago

CHICAGO, Nov. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The Chicago chapters of the Society for Information Management (SIM) and the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) are proud to announce the winners of the 2016 CIO's Most Effective IT Team Awards. Thee year's team winners are The City of Chicago – Large Company, Mesirow Financial – Mid Company, and Connect Hearing – Small Company.

The awards are designed to recognize the achievements of the teams as well as the significant role that teams play in the overall success of an organization and contributions to the IT community as a whole. Nominated teams were judged in award classes based on company size with points awarded in the following categories: cost effectiveness, innovation, change leadership, value creation, service quality, and community.

The awards evaluation process occurs over a 90-day period including a nomination, qualifying, and peer panel evaluation, culminating with an Awards Dinner at the Metropolitan Club of Chicago in November.

Winner award attendees on November 17th 2016 included:

Representing the IT team of Connect Hearing:  Desmond Taylor (Service Desk Manager), Sven Davies (VP of Information Technology), Ernest Schipman (Infrastructure Manager).

Representing the IT team of Mesirow Financial: Jerry Hendrickson, (Senior Vice President,) Phil Letarte (Senior Vice President), Mariusz Krolczynski (Senior Vice President), Ryan Surratt (Vice President), Mohan Iyer (Senior Manager Director and CIO).

Representing the IT Team of the City of Chicago: Danielle DuMerer (First Deputy Commissioner & CTO), Tina Hauri (Chief Information Security Officer), Tom Schenk (Chief Data Officer), Carleton Nolan (Managing Deputy CIO), Doug Hurdelbrink (IT Director, Software Development), Roderick Warren (IT Director, Technical Operations), and Yolanda Gardner (Director of Finance & Administration).

The program received local industry sponsorship from Comcast, Brilliant and EarthLink. Support was provided by CompTIA. The CIOs of the winning teams held an interactive panel discussion moderated by John Fisher of rethinkingIT immediately after the presentation of the awards.
