4-Star General Jack Keane Joins Elliott Broidy, Joe Lieberman and Scott Brown as Surprise Addition to the Bipartisan Coalition for American Security (BCAS)

BCAS continues its success in recruiting national defense stalwarts as the 4-Star General joins former Senator Scott Brown, Senator Joe Lieberman, and National Security Expert Elliott Broidy in driving the coalition's DIME strategy.

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Elliott Broidy's praise for the addition of 4-Star General Jack Keane as BCAS Vice-Chair signaled a watershed moment for the newly formed organization focused on national defense. The arrival of General Keane was yet another instance where BCAS grabbed the attention of Washington policymakers with a pivotal addition to its leadership team.

The Keane appointment builds on the innovative DIME strategy the coalition unveiled at an inaugural event in August, according to a September 4th release. General Jack Keane joins Honorary Co-Chairmen Joe Lieberman and Scott Brown, along with Elliott Broidy, chairman of the advisory board.

General Keane's recruitment was highly prized for the military perspective he brings to the coalition's multifaceted strategy. The DIME acronym is for the Diplomacy, Intelligence, Military and Economic mantra of BCAS. Jack Keane is a decorated veteran who recently conducted military assessments in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Elliott Broidy and Joe Lieberman both noted General Keane's influence in military matters in a September 4th news release.

Senator Lieberman commented that he often turns to General Keane for insights on national defense issues. Joe Lieberman served as Chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee in the Senate. The stature of General Keane in military affairs was cited by Elliott Broidy to be crucial in expanding BCAS outreach.

With the addition of Vice-Chair Jack Keane, BCAS leadership team now fully reflects the bipartisan consensus on national security and global engagement the DIME strategy aims to achieve. Senators Scott Brown and Joe Lieberman were sought for their national security experience during congressional tenures.  Elliott Broidy cinched his appointment in coupling Homeland Security Council experience with private industry success.

BCAS has enjoyed several early successes since inception earlier this year. This includes aiding efforts that defeated a congressional amendment to curtail National Security Agency (NSA) oversight. The non-profit coalition has also been effective in attracting high profile leadership such as 4-Star General Jack Keane to quickly boost its profile.
