10rate.com editor Brittany Rowland rates and reviews vacuum cleaners and dishwashers across different product categories and names the best of each

ATLANTA, March 5, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Spring is right around the corner, and that means the task of Spring cleaning is about to begin. The best tool to get the Spring cleaning fever underway is going to be the vacuum cleaner. Brittany Rowland, a long time editor for 10rate.com, has tested and rated different vacuums to see which is best suited for the task. She looked at the best overall vacuums, stick vacuums, and mini vacuums. Each is necessary for a different task, so it is important to know what you will need and when. She rated the vacuums on 10 point scale and awarded quality, value, and budget editor's choice badges. She looked at things like adjustable height, easily cleaned filters, long cords, portability, and versatility as she decided the ratings.

Brittany chose the Hoover Windtunnel UH70120 as the best for her Vacuum Cleaners Reviews top 10 list. It also received the editor's choice quality award due to the performance and construction of the unit. In her review she said this is, "a vacuum cleaner so powerful it almost feels self-propelled, this Hoover WindTunnel model sucks up even hidden dirt and hair in the carpet and has the tools to reach all the tough places to clean: between sofa cushions, drapery, under furniture. This Hoover vacuum cleaner rolls and turns easily, is light and easy to carry with a built-in handle, and features a retractable cord."

Next she covered the Best Stick Vacuum Cleaners. These are lightweight, highly portable, and are much better for quick cleaning jobs rather than a full and deep clean. Brittany chose a very lightweight and affordable Dirt Devil model as the winner in this category. The Dirt Devil SD20000RED has a, "16-foot power cord that is long enough to let you cover large rooms, and you won't have to worry about keeping the vacuum charged. We were happy with how easily the hand held vac detaches from the base for cleaning window sills, bookcases, and upholstery. At just 1.9 pounds, this Dirt Devil is incredibly easy to lift and carry up and down stairs," she said.

Mini vacuums were last on her list of vacuums to asses. She awarded the Eureka B71 the editor's choice award for quality with a rating of 9.5 out of 10. It tops the Mini Vacuum Cleaners Ratings list because it, "cleans deep into carpets and upholstery, picking up dust particles and pet hair with ease. With a riser visor, you can use the vacuum horizontally or vertically, which makes it incredibly effective on stairs. The on board crevice tool gets into tight nooks and crannies, so you can reach all the little spaces in your car where dust and dirt collect." She finally noted the price point is very affordable for the efficiency of this mini vacuum.

Don't forget about those dishwashers either. Part of Spring cleaning is making sure everything is the kitchen is sparkling clean as well. A dishwasher will get the job done fast and without trouble. Brittany tried out traditional under the counter dishwashers as well as counter top models for those with less space to work with in the kitchen. She chose the GE GDWF160VSS to top the Best Dishwashers list. This one has a stainless steel tub, "capable of washing up to 14 place settings at a time. A steam prewash is a great feature that breaks down grease, grime, and food particles that results in a clean wash every time. One convenient feature we appreciated was the fan assisted heat dry cycle, this allows the heat to be circulated quicker and dry dishes faster," Brittany said in her review. For the Countertop Dishwashers Reviews list she chose the Fisher and Paykel DD24S as the best because it is compact but just as capable as a full sized washer. It has options like a delay start, it's big enough for tall wine glasses, and 9 different wash cycles.
