10rate editors select the best appliances and electronics in various consumer electronics categories

ATLANTA, Jan. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- 10rate.com editors came back from CES 2013 with a lot of new consumer electronics to write about. Products from just about every category of electronics were introduced at the show. John E. Moore, Steve Holdgren, Brittany Rowland, and Brian Jones put their heads together to come up with some of the best entries they saw at the show. Since CES is known for announcing the newest appliances for the year, John and Brittany covered refrigerators and washing machines. The 4-door Samsung T9000 was named one of the best refrigerators from CES 2013 by John and can be seen on the Best Refrigerators Reviews page at 10rate.com. "The 4-doors allow for ultimate customization of how the generous amount of space is used. The top is the refrigerator part with 16.4 cu. ft. of space. The lower right side is a 6.1 cu. ft. freezer. The 6.1 cu. ft. bottom left side is highly adjustable and can be used as either as you need it. This is a great feature that will be extremely helpful to those who entertain often," he said when commenting on the 4-door design.

In the washer category, Brittany Rowland gave the LG WT6001 one of the Best Washing Machines Editor's Choice awards. This one, "is a high efficiency ultra-large capacity washer, so you'll never be worried about those giant loads of laundry. It uses SmartThinQ technology which allows you to monitor your washer remotely and even download new wash cycles. The Automatic Grid feature even tells the washer to run when electricity is the most inexpensive. It is all controled with a 7-inch touchscreen display instead of mechanical controls."

Steve Holdgren chose the best gaming headset he saw at the show. He gave the Thrustmaster Y-250 a rating of 8.5 out of 10 on the Gaming Headset Reviews page. He noted some of the highlights in his review, "Not only does the Y-250 gaming headset from Thrustmaster sound great, but it looks great too. 50mm drivers are encapsulated in the ear cups to deliver a large sound for the best gaming experience. Highs and lows are reproduced accurately to fully deliver the sound as it was meant to be heard. These headsets feature a detachable unidirectional high quality mic. It does an excellent job of cancelling out surrounding noise so only a gamer's voice gets transmitted. Every gamer knows how important that is." Steve also noted that the Y-250 has specific versions for the platform it is to be used on. This was another contributing factor in naming the Thrustmaster headset the best.

When it came to photography, Brian Jones had a lot of new cameras from all the major manufacturers to sort through. He chose the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-ZS30 for one of the best shown at CES 2013. The Point and Shoot Camera Top 10 list shows how it measures up to the rest of the cameras currently on the market. This camera uses a 18.1 megapixel image CMOS image sensor to capture digital images. When addressing the features, he said, "The connectivity features are what really make this an interesting camera. Wifi makes sharing with friends and sending photos to the computer extremely easy through he 802.11 b/g/n connection. The camera is powered by a wide 24mm lens with 20x optical zoom. That means it will be hard to find a shooting situation where this camera will not suffice." Brian also gave the Nikon D5200 an Editors Choice award for the Best Digital Camera using DSLR technology. The Nikon D5200 "is an update of the 2011 D5100. The most important differences are the 24.1 MP sensor, a built-in stereo mic for video, and the 39 point auto focus system found in the D7000. It weighs in at about the same as the 5100 at 19.6oz without a lens. It's a fairly compact camera that feels good in the hands."
